Rage's Stevens Named Equipment Manager for 2009 CHL All-Star Game

Phoenix - The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Wade Sundbye of Oklahoma City and Patrick Stevens of Rocky Mountain will serve as the Athletic Trainer and Equipment Manager for the 2009 CHL All-Star Game, respectively. The game is scheduled for Wednesday, January 14th, in Loveland, Colo., at the Budweiser Events Center.

Sundbye is in his 12th season with the Blazers and following the 2007-08 season was named the CHL Athletic Trainer of the Year. He is employed by the McBride Clinic in Oklahoma City and works as a Staff Athletic Trainer for the clinic in the off-season.

Stevens has been with the Rage since the team's expansion season in 2006-07. Nicknamed 'Loaf', he has been an Equipment Manger in the CHL since 2002 and after the 2007-08 season was named the CHL Equipment Manager of the Year.

"We couldn't be better represented at the All-Star Game than we are with Wade and Patrick," said Jim Wiley, CHL's Director of Hockey Operations. "They both have impeccable reputations and truly do a wonderful job for their teams. They are both very deserving of this appointment."

The trainers for the Colorado Eagles who will provide the opposition for the CHL All-Star team at this year's game is Chris Porowski (Athletic Trainer) and Tony Denyzer (Equipment Manager).

Porowski joined the Eagles in 2003 and is currently working his eighth year of professional hockey. The Dayton, Ohio native has been a part of three championship teams (Colorado 2005 & 2007, Muskegon 2002).

Deynzer has been with the Eagles since 2003 and has been a part of professional hockey for more than a decade. He has worked in three previous CHL All-Star games and has been a part of two Colorado championships.
