Rocky Mountain Rage News Release

Broomfield, Colo. - The Rocky Mountain Rage made their second roster move in as many weeks today by signing rookie winger Domenic Maiani. To accommodate his addition to the line-up, the team also released forward Mark Versteeg-Lytwyn.

Much like Rage player/assistant coach Daymen Rycroft, Maiani played college hockey at Ohio State, where he was named an Honorable Mention for the CCHA's All-Rookie Team in 2005. He went on to record a total of 72 points (25g-47a) in 93 games over three years with the Buckeyes. After briefly playing with the ECHL's Johnstown Chiefs at the end of last season, the Detroit-area native began this year with the Amarillo Gorillas. Maiani's younger brother, Anthony, is currently a sophomore center for the University of Denver.

"Domenic is capable of giving our offense a shot in the arm," said Rage Head Coach and General Manager Tracy Egeland. "He skates really well and put up very good numbers at a top-notch college program."

Versteeg-Lytwyn departs having recorded two goals in nine games with the club. Today's moves come on the heels of last week's acquisition of All-Star center Aaron Davis.

Rocky Mountain concludes a four-game road trip this weekend when the team travels to face the New Mexico Scorpions and Odessa Jackalopes on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Fans can tune-in to ESPN Radio 1600 for the play-by-play of both games beginning at 7 p.m. MST from New Mexico and 5:55 p.m. MST from Odessa. Live audio and video streaming will also be carried on the CHL Network at www.rockymountainrage.com.

The Rage then return home to Broomfield Event Center on Nov. 21 and 22 at 7:05 p.m. against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs and Rapid City Rush, respectively.
