Rocky Mountain Rage News Release
Broomfield, Colo. - The Rocky Mountain Rage have re-signed rookie defenseman Preston Briggs, who will begin his second stint this season with the club when the Rage host the Wichita Thunder tomorrow at Broomfield Event Center at 7:05 p.m.
The 6-foot-4, 200 lb. native of Colorado Springs began his rookie campaign with the Oklahoma City Blazers before he was acquired by Rocky Mountain on Nov. 9 in exchange for future considerations. Briggs logged a combined 17 games with the Rage and Blazers, scoring one goal and recording 10 penalty minutes before he was waived by Rocky Mountain on Jan. 25.
Tomorrow night the Rage will aim for their third straight win at home following a 5-2 victory against the Lubbock Cotton Kings on Feb. 28 and a 6-0 shutout over the Amarillo Gorillas on March 2. The last time they faced the Thunder on Feb. 2 in Wichita, Rocky Mountain prevailed 2-1 in a shootout behind 39 saves from goaltender Trevor Cunning and two goals from All-Star forward Mark Wires.
Tickets are still available for tomorrow's contest with prices ranging from $9-$40 per seat. Group plans are also available for the remainder of the 2006-07 season by calling 303-439-RAGE. For more information, visit www.RockyMountainRage.com.
