
Rafters Look to Spoil Bombers' Postseason Push

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters take on Battle Creek Bombers at Witter Field with six games left in 2018.
Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. - The Rafters are coming off a successful, yet error filled game against the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders. After last night's win, the Rafters are now 15-15 in the second half and 30-35 overall. The Battle Creek Bombers are 16-19 on the second half and 34-32 overall.
On the mound for the cranberry and gold is Winston Allen (University of Delaware). Allen has a 0-0 record with a 3.60 ERA. This will be his second start for the Rafters. In five innings pitched, he has walked four, allowed four hits and struck out three.
Pitching for the Bombers is Derek Martin. This will be his first start for the Bombers but the second appearance. In one inning pitched, the righty from Tarleton State allowed zero hits and struck out two.
The first pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m. The Rafters will conclude the series against the Battle Creek Bombers on Wednesday August 8th.
