Huntsville Havoc News Release
HUNTSVILLE, AL - Huntsville Havoc Head Coach Randy Murphy announced today that the team has re-signed forward B.J. Radovich and signed rookie forward Nick Monroe.
Radovich (5-9, 185) had a career year last season with the Havoc, when he scored 22 goals and recorded 32 assists in 54 games. The Hermantown, Minnesota native has now played in 132 career professional games and has scored 44 goals and recorded 54 assists.
"I actually tried signing B.J. last summer in New Mexico," Murphy said. "I'm looking for him to build on last season and provide leadership through consistency in his production and work ethic. He is one of the core guys from last season that allows us to build from a solid foundation."
"I really excited about playing in Huntsville again and playing for Coach Murphy," Radovich said. "I almost played for him last year in New Mexico so I am really familiar with him. I've spoken with him several times over the off-season and really like what I hear with his plans for this year. I had a good season last year in Huntsville and hopefully we can get some of the guys back from last season and go deeper in the playoffs this year."
Monroe (5-9, 175) played four seasons at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. He played in 128 games from 2005-2009, scoring six goals and recording 13 assists.
"I'm looking for Nick to be an impact player in his first professional season," Murphy said "He comes from a great Division 1 school where he played for four years. He has great speed, good hockey sense, and intelligence in the defensive zone. I feel Nick could put up some really good offensive numbers as well."
"I really don't know what to expect," Monroe said. "I've heard that the college game is a little faster but professional is so much tougher. I'm going to have a lot of patience and hope I can chip in and score some. I've always been pretty good on special teams, especially on the penalty kill. I just want to come in and contribute any way that I can to help the team win."
