Quintana goes 4-4 with HR, 4 RBI as Fisher Cats beat Thunder 10-4

Manchester, NH---Al Quintana went 4-for-4 with a home run and four RBI and Luis Perez allowed three earned runs in 7.2 innings as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats turned back the Trenton Thunder 10-4 before 6,042 Sunday afternoon at Merchantsauto.com Stadium.

Perez (4-4) won his second straight decision, allowing six hits, walking one and striking out four.

The Fisher Cats broke on top with three runs in the bottom of the first inning off starter and loser Wilkin De La Rosa (1-2). Todd Donovan (2-for-4, 2 R, 2 SB) doubled to lead off the inning. After stealing third base, he scored on a double by Brian Dopirak (3-for-5, 2B, RBI). Nick Gorneault and Brian Jeroloman walked and Al Quintana drove in two runs with a bases-loaded single.

Trenton (19-21) tied the game with three runs off Luis Perez in the top of the second inning. Noah Hall drove in two runs with a triple and he scored on a single by Marcos Vechionacci.

New Hampshire (23-21), in snapping a four-game losing streak, took the lead for good in the bottom of the fourth inning. Quintana singled and Cody Haerther (1-for-3, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R) followed with his first home run of the season to make it 5-3. Donovan tripled and scored on a single by Brad Emaus (2-for-5, 2B, SB, 3 RBI)

The Fisher Cats extended the lead to 9-3 with three more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning off relievers Wilkins Arias and Josh Schmidt. Gorneault singled and scored on a double by Quintana. After Haerther and Luis Sanchez walked to load the bases, Emaus doubled home two more runs.

Quintana added a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning off Schmidt, his second, a shot into the Poultry Products Dinner In The Den in left field to make it 10-3.

The Thunder added a run on a solo home run leading off the ninth inning by catcher Jose Gil off Sean Stidfole, worked the final 1.1 IP for New Hampshire.

The final game of the Trenton series will be played tomorrow afternoon, Memorial Day at 1:05pm. The first 2,000 fans attending the game will receive an American flag.
