Today, the SeaWolves continue their seven-game road trip as they take on the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians) in the third game of a four-game series at Canal Park. It is a battle of the top two teams in the Eastern League. Akron leads the league with 30 wins while Erie's 24-17 record is second-best. Last night, the 'Wolves let a late lead
one-run lead slip away as the Aeros plated one in the eighth to tie and one in the ninth with two outs to win. It was the first loss of the season for the SeaWolves when
leading after the seventh inning. The 'Wolves had been 18-0 when leading after seven until last night. Since the SeaWolves started May 10-2 the club has dropped seven of its last 10. Erie is 6.5 games behind Akron and 2.5 games ahead of third place Reading...Lefty Duane Below takes the mound for the 'Wolves making his second Double-A start. In his Double-A debut against Harrisburg on May 18, Below tossed five solid innings, allowing three runs, two earned, on five hits with five walks and four strikeouts. He was 1-4 with a 3.14 ERA in six starts with Lakeland to begin the season...Righty Josh Tomlin takes the mound for Akron. Tomlin makes his eighth start of the season and first against the 'Wolves. Tomlin has won three straight games and is 5-0 with a no-decision in his last six starts. In his most recent outing against Trenton on May 19, Tomlin went six innings, allowing a run on seven hits with a walk and eight strikeouts.
