Kebs de Laval News Release
Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that the Quebec Kebekwa will be the first team to travel to Singapore to meet the Beijing Aoshen Olympian on Friday, November 30th and Saturday, December 1st. According to Brad Hester, ABA VP of Operations, "We selected the Kebs for a variety of reasons including the fact that they have a tremendous organization and a very fine team. In addition, their players, coaches and management had their passports ready and they were eager to participate. We think they'll represent the ABA at its finest. We're very pleased that Vincent Bernier and the Quebec Kebs will open our series with the famous Beijing Aoshen Olympians."
"I cannot tell you how pleased and honored we are to have been selected for this historic occasion. Our players and coaches are very excited. The Olympians have been an ABA playoff team and we know that the two game series will be very competitive. We will do everything we can to make the ABA and Canada proud that they chose us to make the first trip," stated team co-owner Vincent Bernier.
Beginning the weekend of November 30th and each week throughout the season, the ABA will send a different team to play in Singapore versus the Olympians. The games will be counted in the ABA standings for both the Olympians and the visiting teams. Plans are being made to carry the games on television in the US, Canada and worldwide. Full details will be announced shortly as will the list of teams participating in the games. For more information, visit www.kebs.ca or www.abalive.com.
