Frost Heaves Down Kebs In Quebec For Third In Row

Quebec City, Quebec, Canada-The Vermont Frost Heaves slipped past a tough Quebec team to claim their third win of the season with a 95-91 victory at the Pavillion de la Jeunesse tonight.

Forward Issa Konare led the Frost Heaves with 18 points, including a three-pointer in the final minutes and a crucial blocked shot on a Quebec breakaway. Vermont guard Terrance Green added 16 points and Antonio Burks chipped in 15.

Quebec's standouts were Tony Weeden, who scored 27 points, and Samuel Audet-Sow, who scored 23 points and grabbed 7 boards for the Kebekwa. With the loss Quebec fell to 0-4 on the season.

The hosts kept the Frost Heaves on their toes the entire night. Vermont led 42-41 at the half, but the Kebekwa managed to take a short-lived lead in the fourth quarter.

The Frost Heaves (3-0) return to Vermont on Sunday, Nov. 18, for their home opener against the Halifax Rainmen at Burlington's Memorial Auditorium at 2:05 p.m. It will be Fletcher Allen Health Care Day, with former Champlain Valley Union star Owen Baldwin, who works in Fletcher Allen's gastroenterology department, serving as the Northfield Savings Bank Community All-Star.
