Ask the Trainer
Published on November 17, 2007 under American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Question: "Do I need physical therapy?"
Answer: Typically, musculoskeletal injuries respond very well to physical therapy. Physical therapy can usually accelerate recovery, restore function, and can identify the underlying root cause of the injury or imbalance. Sport activity requires a high-level of function and your body must be in balance in order too perform efficiently, successfully and safely. Physical therapy/orthopaedic rehabilitation to reduce pain, restore your body balance, restore motion and strength, and recondition the body as a whole will facilitate a safe and expedient return to athletic activity. Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
