FRISCO-Cal Quantrill won his fourth straight start as the Missions held off the Roughriders Thursday night, 2-1, at Dr. Pepper Ballpark.

Jason Jester and Rowan Wick each tossed a scoreless inning as San Antonio maintained a two game lead over Corpus Christi in the South Division with four games left in the first half. The Hooks beat Midland, 2-1, on Thursday.

Taylor Kohlwey, who entered the series in a 1-for-23 slump, collected his third hit in two night when he doubled Rod Boykin to start the scoring in the third inning. The run was unearned due to an earlier throwing error by Rangers rehabbing shortstop, Elvis Andrus.

Austin Allen clubbed a 382-foot homer to right-center the following inning. It was Allen's 15thlongball of the season, tying him for the league lead.

Frisco scored a two-out run off Quantrill in the fifth frame, but the right-hander worked his way out of further trouble.

Quantrill tied his season and career high by going seven innings for the third time this year. He did not issue a walk for the second time in three starts.

San Antonio is a perfect 6-0 at Dr. Pepper Ballpark this year and they've won 11 of the 14 overall from the Roughriders.
