
Quakes Win With "Walk-Off" Homerun in 10th 10-8

Rancho Cucamonga, CA- Rancho got on the board first in the series finale against the Stockton Ports by plating a first inning run. After a lead off single by Peter Bourjos, he stole second base with one out and scored on an RBI single by Hank Conger to take a 1-0 lead.
The Quakes scored another run in the second inning with two outs as Anthony Norman came across the plate on a single by Bourjos to make the score 2-0.
Stockton wouldn't trail for long as they scored four runs in the 3rd against Quakes starter Alexander Torres on RBI singles by Josh Horton, Adrian Cardenas and Matt Sulentic, and an RBI sacrifice fly by Chris Carter to take a 4-2 lead.
Rancho came back to tie the game in the 5th as Drew Toussaint and Larry Infante drove in a runs with two outs to tie the game 4-4.
The Quakes took a lead in sixth as they had four straight hits against reliever Scott Moore and got an RBI single by Ryan Mount and an RBI ground out by Conger to grab a 6-4 lead.
The lead lasted into the top of the 8th when Stockton took the lead 7-6 with three straight two out RBI hits from Horton, Cardenas and Carter against Jordon Towns and Trevor Bell. They added a run in the ninth on a Matt Sulentic solo home run to lead 8-6.
The Ports advantage held up until the ninth when the Quakes got to their closer Sam Demel on a solo home run by Drew Toussaint and a two-out, pinch-hit RBI single by Abel Nieves to tie the game 8-8.
In the Rancho 10th with one out, Conger was hit by a pitch by Mike Benacka and Mark Trumbo followed with a walk-off, two-run home run to win the game 10-8. Trumbo was 1x6 on the night.
Rancho will embark on a seven game road trip starting in Visalia Friday night at 7:05pm. Jordan Walden will make his second start with the Quakes against right hander Bryan Augenstein.
