Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

Rancho Cucamonga, CA - Austin Gallagher's three-run blast capped a four-run fifth and put the Quakes ahead to stay, as they came from behind for the third straight night, beating the Lake Elsinore Storm by a final of 5-4 on Saturday night at The Epicenter.

Gallagher had a big night, going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs, falling just a triple shy of the cycle, as he helped the Quakes to a season-high third straight win.

Trailing 4-1 in the fifth, Mike Pericht doubled to open the inning against Storm starter Mark Pope (2-3). Pope would retire the next two hitters and looked like he would get out of the frame without any damage done, but the Quakes put together a fierce two-out rally. Joc Pederson singled home Pericht, making it 5-2. Brian Cavazos-Galvez kept the inning alive with an infield single, setting the table for Gallagher, who crushed his team-leading seventh of the year down the right-field line, putting Rancho up 5-4.

Quakes' starter Andres Santiago (3-1) gave up four runs on five hits and handed it off to the bullpen after five innings. Jordan Roberts and Scott McGough were strong out of the pen, as each fired two scoreless innings, with McGough recording his first save as a Quake, thanks to two perfect frames.

Rancho (13-17) will look for a fourth straight win and their first series-sweep of the year, sending Angel Sanchez (1-2) to the mound on Sunday at 2:05pm. Lake Elsinore will go with righthander Matt Andriese (2-1) in the series-finale. Sunday morning is our second of four U.S. Bank Youth Baseball Clinics, with registration starting at 9:00am and the clinic actually kicking off at 10:00am. Great seats are available at 909-481-5000 or online at rcquakes.com. We hope to see you at The Epicenter...Go Quakes!
