Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

Lancaster, CA - Tom Windle won his fifth straight start and the Quakes won a four-game set from the Lancaster JetHawks, taking three of four thanks to Monday's 7-5 victory over the JetHawks at the Hangar.

Windle (9-4) didn't have his best start on Monday, but was backed by a seven-run, 14-hit attack and a near-flawless effort from the bullpen.

Windle surrendered a solo homer to Teoscar Hernandez in the bottom of the first, his 16th of the year, staking Lancaster to a 1-0 lead.

That lead was short-lived though, as the Quakes battled back to tie the game on a Steven Proscia sac fly in the second, then scored three more to take the lead for good in the third.

Lancaster starter Kent Emanuel (3-3) allowed the first four hitters to reach safely in the third, as Adam Law singled and two batters later, scored on a Chris Jacobs RBI double, giving Rancho a 2-1 advantage. Aaron Miller followed with an RBI double, before Kyle Farmer's RBI groundout capped the three-run inning, putting the Quakes up 4-1.

The Quakes added another run in the fourth, as Corey Seager smacked his second double of the night, his league-leading 33rd of the year, scoring Law to make it 5-1. Of Rancho's 14 hits, seven were doubles.

The JetHawks got to Windle for three in the fifth, as Hernandez highlighted the three-run outburst with a two-run triple, making it 5-4.

Rancho responded with two in the sixth against Zach Morton, taking a 7-4 lead, as Farmer doubled home a pair of runs, giving him three RBIs on the night.

The JetHawks got an unearned run in the sixth but could get no closer, as Rancho's bullpen combined to allow just one base-runner over the final 3 2/3 innings, with that runner reaching via an error. Dan Tillman, Dan Coulombe and Rob Rogers were incredible, holding Lancaster off the board, with Rogers netting his seventh save with a 1-2-3 ninth.

The Quakes (16-2, 48-40) have now won 17 of their last 19 overall heading into Tuesday's home stand opener at LoanMart Field.

Chris Anderson (6-5) will throw for the Quakes, while the Lake Elsinore Storm come to town and start Coby Cowgill (2-1) in the three-game series-opener.

Tuesday is another Healthy RC Recycle Tuesday with fans able to bring ten CRV-eligible bottles and cans to the ballpark for a free Club Seat Ticket. Tickets are available by calling (909) 481-5000. We hope to see you very soon at LoanMart Field.
