August 2, 2018 - California League (CalL1)
Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release
Rancho Cucamonga, CA - Connor Wong and Jared Walker not only homered for the second straight night, but they both went deep twice on Wednesday night, as the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes hammered Lake Elsinore for a second straight night, winning 11-5 at LoanMart Field.
Wong and Walker combined for four homers, six total hits, five RBIs and seven runs scored in Rancho's sixth straight win overall.
Cristian Santana also slugged his second homer in as many nights, a three-run shot in the eighth that essentially put the game away.
Quakes' starter Leo Crawford was removed before getting out of the fifth, as he surrendered a total of three runs on six hits over just 4.1 innings.
Andre Scrubb (4-0) notched the win in relief, with Parker Curry and Michael Boyle combining for two scoreless frames to finish it off.
Storm starter Nick Margevicius (2-3) was hit with the loss, allowing seven runs on eight hits.
The Quakes (66-44, 31-9) continue to hold the best record in the league and have now won five straight over the Storm. Rancho is scheduled to start Dodgers' lefty Hyun-Jin Ryu on rehab assignment on Thursday night, while the Storm will go with Michel Baez (3-7) at 7:05pm. All Dodgers rehabbers are sponsored by San Manuel Casino.
