Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release
Rancho Cucamonga, CA - Ryan Bliss hit for the cycle and the Visalia Rawhide took their first win of the six-game series on Friday night, as they beat the Quakes by a final of 7-3.
More than 3,600 people at LoanMart Field saw some history, as Bliss singled in the ninth inning to complete the first cycle for the Rawhide this year, snapping Rancho's four-game winning streak.
Rancho's offense was held to just five hits, but two of them came from Yeiner Fernandez, who cracked his first homer of the year, a two-run shot to tie the game at 2-2 against Visalia starter and eventual winner Avery Short (2-5).
Visalia took the lead with four in the sixth, as Quakes' reliever Jherming Rosario (0-2) struggled, allowing all four runs without recording an out.
Visalia reliever John Carver walked a pair of Quakes in the ninth, but Rancho left the tying run in the on-deck circle, as Carver earned his first save of the year.
The Quakes (66-52) look to turn it back around on Saturday, as they send newcomer Edgardo Henriquez (0-0) to the mound against right-hander Luke Albright (2-3).
