SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES HEAD COACH MIKAEL STAHRE

On the team's performance:

"First of all, it's always nice to win games. We scored four goals. I thought the first lineup performed really well, really aggressive. In defense we conquered all the balls in the central area and had great movement behind the back line. We created a lot of chances."

On the team's tactical progress:

"We're doing better and better actually. We took a step forward today. We focused on the defensive end the first weeks, and now we are focused on the attacking end. We are doing better and better."

SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES FORWARD CHRIS WONDOLOWSKI

On the match:

"I thought it was a great start and we executed a game plan. Mikael and our coaching staff have done a great job at trying to implement it with us and I thought we came pushing today. It was fun to see. It was compact, we were able to press the ball, win it in good areas, express ourselves and play from there."

On Mikael's tactics impacting the team:

"A fun part about preseason is taking a whole game plan, shape and idea and evolving it into something that you want, that is yours and is something successful. I think that is something that is ever evolving, but we are on the right path. Mikael said that he wants us to get the mentality first and understand the ideas behind stuff. Then, we will fine tune those little things of positioning and things like that, and I think we are on path right now."

SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES MIDFIELDER/FORWARD MAGNUS ERIKSSON

On scoring two goals:

"It was nice to score my first goals for the Earthquakes. It was fun. It takes time to get to know each other. The more games we play with each other the better we will be. Today we had some good combinations and attacks."
