Quad City Steamwheelers News Release
The Quad City Steamwheelers, defending Champions of the IFL's Eastern Conference, have signed defensive lineman Lionell Wiggins.
While playing for San Jose State, Wiggins was named to the 2018 Academic All-Mountain West Team. He later played for Northern Arizona University in 2021. His college football experience includes gametime action against Oregon and Hawaii.
Director of Player Personnel Ryan Michael told SteamwheelersFootball.com "Lionell is a tremendous athlete whose combination of strength and patience along the defensive line allows him to make plays and impact the direction of his opponents. His experience against programs like Oregon will be a welcome addition."
"He has high energy! When you watch his film he runs down a lot of QB. He has a great motor and uses his hand well. Those are intangibles you must have to be a pass rusher in the IFL. " said Head Coach Cory Ross.
