QMJHL names roster for RE/MAX Canada/Russia Challenge

Halifax Mooseheads News Release
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League today released the roster for the RE/MAX Canada/Russia Challenge games to be plated at Halifax, NS, Thursday, Nov. 20th and Rimouski, QC., Monday, Nov. 24th. The announcement was made by league Commissioner Gilles Corteau during a noon press conference at league headquarters in Longueuil, QC.
The 22-player roster will be made up of the best QMJHL Canadian players, eligible for the Canadian National team pre-selection camp for the 2004 World Junior Championships (no 20-year-old players).
A committee consisting of Hockey Canada Head Scout Blair Mackasey, with QMJHL general-managers Doris Labonte, Rimouski Oceanic and Stephane Pilotte, Val-d'Or Foreurs selected the team.
Halifax Mooseheads' head coach Shawn MacKenzie will act as assistant coach for the Halifax game, joining Team QMJHL head coach Mario Durocher of the Lewiston MAINEiacs and assistant coach Pascal Vincent of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles on the bench.
At the same time, Courteau also announced that former Mooseheads' assistant coach Cam Russell has been named honorary captain for the Halifax game. Russell, a 10-year NHL veteran with the Chicago Blackhawks and Colorado Avalanche, served as assistant coach of the Mooseheads for three years, retiring prior to this season.
Tickets for the Halifax game went on sale to the general public today. Ticket prices are $20.00 for lower bowl seats and the lower rows of the upper bowl. All other seats are $15.00.
