Olympiques Retain Top Ranking

The Canadian Hockey League today announced the BMO Bank of Montreal CHL Top 10 Rankings for the week ending Sunday October 26. The weekly rankings of the Canadian Hockey League's top 10 teams are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.

The Gatineau Olympiques (15-2-2-0) continue their dominance of the top spot after picking up a 3-2 overtime win against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles on October 24 in their only game of the week. The Screaming Eagles had three wins last week and hold the second spot.

The Kamloops Blazers (10-3-1-1) picked up a 3-2 win over the Moose Jaw Warriors on October 24 before dropping a 1-0 decision to the Kelowna Rockets on October 25. The Blazers are in a four-way tie for first overall in the WHL with 22 points in 15 games.

The Owen Sound Attack (8-4-2-1) maintained the fourth spot in the standings despite a 1-2 week. They are second overall in the OHL with 19 points - one behind the London Knights, who debuted on the list in sixth after winning all three of their games last week.

The Rimouski Oceanic made their way into the BMO Bank of Montreal CHL Top 10 after wins over the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, P.E.I. Rocket and Quebec Remparts last week. Sidney Crosby, the top pick in the QMJHL draft is leading the league in scoring with 37 points in 18 games.

The Mississauga IceDogs also made their debut in the BMO Bank of Montreal CHL Top 10 after wins over the Brampton Battalion, Kingston Frontenacs and Sarnia Sting last week. Patrick O'Sullivan has paced the team offensively and scored six goals in the past three games.
