
Pysyk Makes U-18 Team Canada

Edmonton, AB.: Edmonton Oil King Defenseman Mark Pysyk is off to Europe to compete against the world's best. The 17 year old has made Canada's National Under 18 team that is heading overseas for the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament. The team is off to Slovakia for exhibition games this weekend. Pysyk and Team Canada open up the tournament next Tuesday against Sweden in the Czech Republic.
"I want to congratulate Mark." says Oil Kings General Manager Bob Green. "Hopefully this tournament can be a stepping stone for him and it will lead to a tryout with the National Junior Team in the future."
Pysyk is heading into his second year with the Oil Kings. The Sherwood Park native recorded 5 goals and 15 assists in 61 regular season games last year.
