Pucks 4 Pets Plans Announced

Brandon, MB. -- The Brandon Wheat Kings, in conjunction with theBrandon Humane Society are pleased to announce plans for thePucks 4 Pets Ball Toss for a Toonie, scheduled for thisWednesday, March 14th when the Eastern Division leading Moose Jaw Warriors pay a visit to Westman Place.

Fans attending the game, which is also the second and finalRain Check Game of the 2011-12 regular season, are being encouraged to purchase a tennis ball at the game and toss them to the ice during the second intermission. If your numbered tennis ball is retrieved by Digit, the golden retriever, you could win this year's Grand Prize of a 2012-13 Wheat Kings' Season Ticket.

All proceeds from the sale of the tennis balls, which will be sold for $2 each, will be donated to the Brandon Humane Society.

In addition to being available throughout the concourse on game night, fans can purchase balls in advance of the game on Wednesday at the Brandon Humane Society.

For tickets to Wednesday's game, visit the Keystone Centre box office, call 726-3555 or go online at ticketmaster.ca. Because March 14th is Rain Check Night, any unused Wheat King ticket (December 16th to March 10th) can be exchanged at the box office for a"free" ticket to this game (Regular Ticketmaster agency fees of $3 per ticket will apply).

The Wheat Kings enter this, the second last home game of the season with a record of 37-28-1-3 and sit in eighth place in the Western Hockey League's Eastern Conference. Brandon currently trails seventh place Saskatoon by one point and sixth place Regina by two with one week remaining in the regular season, following Saturday's 2-1 victory over the Blades.

Following Wednesday's game, the Wheat Kings will bring the curtain down on the 2011-12 season with a home and home series with the Pats.
