Port Huron Prowlers News Release
Port Huron, MI - What looked to be the start of another Saturday night rout at home for the Prowlers turned into a 7-6 victory in overtime, Dustin Skinner would cash in the game winner.
Dayton started the game flying out of the gates scoring 4 straight goals, before Jared Hicks would finally put the Prowlers in the goal column. His 4th goal and 6th point in two games would make it 4-1 in the 2nd period. However Robert Morton would score twice in the 2nd period, Dayton took a 6-3 lead in the locker room.
After a shaky start in the first 2 periods from Curtis Martinu (26 saves on 32 shots) he was stellar in the third period stopping all 13 Dayton shot attempts in the final regulation frame. A big part of the Prowlers comeback.
Roger Tagoona would make it 6-4 with roughly 10 minutes left to go in the third, then back to back goals from Justin Alonzo and Len Pelletier would tie the game at 6 with 4 and half minutes left to go in the 3rd. Eventually the game would go to overtime.
1:03 into overtime it was Dustin Skinner netting the game winner for his team. Receiving the feed from Justin Alonzo from the side of the net.
Curtis Martinu would finish the game with another 40+ save win his 2nd against Dayton this season. Justin Alonzo would have 4 points with 3 assists. Julian Fraser would also net himself 3 assists, and Dustin Skinner added an assist for a 2 point night for him.
Prowlers will be on the road next weekend. Fri Nov, 20th in Dayton, and Saturday Nov, 21st in Danbury.
