Greensboro Generals News Release
Greensboro, NC âThe Greensboro Generals will induct original franchise member Don Carter into their Hall of Fame in a ceremony during their November 15th game against the Columbia Inferno. The induction of Carter, and the retiring of his No. 14 jersey, will mark just the second time in franchise history a player has received such honors. On March 9, 2002, Pat Kelly was announced as the inaugural member of the Generals Hall of Fame and his No. 5 jersey was retired.
The 2003-04 Generals will return to their heritage on Nov. 15 as the players will be donning green jerseys similar to the ones worn in the early years of the franchise. Fans interested in purchasing these one-time game-worn items will have an opportunity to bid on the jerseys from beginning November 15th until December 20th. The minimum bid will be $125.00, and bids can be entered at a registration table in the Coliseum concourse near Guest Services (Section 101). The winning bids will be announced and the jersey's will be awarded post-game on December 20th, after the Generals face-off against the South Carolina Stingrays.
Also of note for the upcoming "Anniversary Game" will be the return of Monty, the former mascot of the Greensboro Monarchs. Fans are encouraged to come out and see the antics of Monty in his first game back on the ice since last season.
Tickets for November 15th "Anniversary Night," as well as all Greensboro Generals 2003-04 home games, are on sale now at the Coliseum advance box office, all participating Triad area Lowes Foods locations, on-line at www.tickets.com and by calling toll free (888) 397-3100.
