
Prince powers 'Dads past Legends, 15-4

LEXINGTON, KY - The Hickory Crawdads put on a hitting display against the Lexington Legends on Saturday night, crushing the Legends by the final score of 15-4, before 5,181 fans at Applebee's Park in Lexington. The 11-run margin of victory is the largest for the Crawdads this season.
RF Jared Prince slugged two home runs, including his second grand slam of the season. Prince is the first 'Dads player to hit two homers in a game this season. He also drove in a single game team-high six runs on the night.
With the game tied at one entering the second inning, Hickory (12-11, 52-41) exploded for five runs in the frame against Legends starter LHP Brad Dydalewicz (0-3, 10.25 ERA). With the bases loaded and one out, 3B Bonadonna drew a walk to bring in CF Guillermo Pimentel from third. Prince then stepped up to the plate and deposited a pitch from Dydalewicz over the left field wall for his second grand slam of the year, putting the 'Dads ahead 6-1.
Lexington (12-11, 47-46) cut its deficit to 6-3 with two unearned runs in the bottom of the third, but the Crawdads answered back with a six-run fifth inning.
With runners at first and second and no outs in the fifth, DH Yefrey Castillo drove home his first run of the year for the Crawdads with an RBI double, plating LF Cristian Santana. SS Jonathan Roof followed with his first RBI for Hickory, singling in Pimentel from third. After a two-run double by 2B Travis Adair, Prince connected for his second homer of the night, further extending the 'Dads lead to 12-3.
Hickory added three more runs in the seventh frame on an RBI double from 1B Jared Bolden and a two-run single by Pimentel, to put Hickory ahead, 15-3.
LF Jacob Goebbert pulled the Legends a run closer in the eighth inning with a solo home run, to account for the eventual final score of 15-4.
Crawdads starter RHP Robbie Erlin allowed three runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk while striking out six in four innings. RHP Danny Gutierrez (1-0, 1.80 ERA)followed with three scoreless frames to earn the win before RHP Johnny Gunter dealt the final two innings to wrap up the ballgame. Dydalewicz took the loss for Lexington.
