New Jersey Jackals News Release

Little Falls, NJ - The Nashua Pride tied their best of five, first round series, with the New Jersey Jackals at one win a piece with a hard fought 4-1 victory on Thursday evening at Holman Stadium behind the amazing effort from "A-OK."

In the bottom of the third, the Pride posted two runs against Joel Bennett. John Ramistella began the inning with a solo homerun, and later, Chris Collabello grounded into a double play, allowing a runner from third to score. After three innings, Nashua led 2-0.

Two innings later, Nashua added to their lead with a sac fly off the bat of Jermy Acey. They led 3-0 after five innings while their starter, Akira Okamota cruised through the Jackal hitters through his first five innings of work.

New Jersey finally produced a run in the sixth on a Sandy Madera sac fly, but still stranded two baserunners in what could have been a big inning. After six, the Jackals trailed 3-1, but they'd inflict no more damage to Okamoto.

Okamoto dazzled on the postseason stage. In a complete game, he allowed eight hits, leading to just one earned run. He walked one and struck out eight.

Bennett pitched well for the Jackals, despite suffering the loss. He yielded three earned runs on seven hits while walking one and striking out six, including five in his final two innings of work.
