Nashua 4, New Jersey 1 (Series tied 1-1)

@ Nashua, NH. Time: 2:15 Attendance: 628

W: Akira Okamoto (1-0) L: Joel Bennett (0-1) S: None

HR: NP-John Ramistella (2)

The Nashua Pride got a superb outing from starting pitcher Akira Okamoto to claim a victory in game two to even the series. Okamoto had the New Jersey hitters figured out all night. He allowed one run on eight hits and struck out eight in a complete game effort. The Pride scored two runs in the third inning, first off a solo home run by RF John Ramistella and again when 3B John Acey walked and later scored on a double play. On this night that would be all that Nashua needed. Jackals' starter Joel Bennett did not pitch poorly, but suffered the loss. He allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out six in seven innings of work. From here, the series will shift to Little Falls, NJ where the Jackals will attempt to regain the series lead behind starting pitcher Ryan Pacyna. The Pride will attempt to take their first lead of the series and will send Tim Bausher to the hill.

Atlantic City 3, North Shore 2 (Series tied 1-1)

@ Lynn, MA. Time: 3:14 Attendance: 379

W: Jamie Tricoglou (1-0) L: Jamie Baker (0-1) S: None

HR: None

The Atlantic City Surf evened the series with North Shore on the road by manufacturing a run in the ninth inning to break a 2-2 tie. C Wally Rosa led off that inning with a double and advanced to third one batter later thanks to a sacrifice bunt. That brought Surf CF Lucas Taylor to the plate. Taylor was 3-for-5 in the game to lead all hitters, but it was his single up the middle that drove home Rosa that proved to be the difference in the game. Both starting pitchers pitched well, but neither factored in the decision. Surf starter Ben Thurmond allowed one run on eight hits and struck out two in six innings of work. North Shore starter Matt Bishop allowed two runs on 10 hits and struck out five in 6 1/3 innings. There were no walks issued by either side the entire game. Surf reliever Jamie Tricoglou took over for Thurmond to begin the seventh and recorded the win after allowing one run on two hits in three innings of work. From here the series will move to Atlantic City where each team will look to gain the advantage. The scheduled starters for the game are Gary Galvez for North Shore and JC Huguet for Atlantic City.
