Pride Rally Falls Short, Lose 7-4 to Atlantic City

(NASHUA, NH, June 13, 2007) The Atlantic City Surf jumped out to an early 6-0 lead and never looked back as they defeated the Nashua Pride in front of 1,492 fans at Historic Holman Stadium. Shingo Mitsomori (1-0) scattered 7 hits in 6.2 scoreless innings for the Surf, picking up his first win on the season.

The Surf got things rolling in the second inning off Pride starter Jason Paul (0-4) by scoring 3 runs off 4 hits. They doubled their lead the next inning, highlighted by RF Ryan Walker's RBI single and a run scoring walk by DH Rich Daly.

The Pride mounted a comeback in the bottom of the 8th while facing a 7-0 defecit, scoring 4 runs off of 2 hits, including an RBI single by Olmo Rosario. The Pride were able to stay in the game because of 7 strong innings of relief from Jason Kosow (4 innings), Tom Thornton (2.1 innings) and Steve Palazzolo (0.2 innings).

With a single in the third inning the Pride's LF Tom Creighton was able to extend his league leading home hitting streak to 11 games. 1B Matt Creighton extended his league leading on base streak to 19 games with an RBI hit-by-pitch in the 8th inning.

The Pride begin a four game series in Brockton against the Rox tomorrow night at 7:05 PM at Campanelli Stadium. The Pride return home on Tuesday, June 19th against the Can-Am League's traveling team, the Grays.
