Preview: Storm Battle Lancers in Rivalry Game at Viaero Center

Kearney, NE. - The Tri-City Storm battle the Omaha Lancers today at the Viaero Center following a 3-2 victory last night over the Fargo Force. Chase McLane, Matthew Knies, and Joey Cipollone scored the Storm's goals in the win. Tickets to today's game are only $10, and are available for purchase at the Viaero Center Box Office, by calling 308-338-8144, or by visiting www.StormHockey.com $2 Busch Light Cans and $1 Soda Cans will be sold throughout the game. Family 4 Packs are also available for purchase, and include 4 Tickets, 4 Drinks, and 4 Hot Dogs for $40. The Tri-City Storm will hold a post-game autograph session at the Viaero Center following today's home game. Puck drop for today's Nebraska Lottery Rivalry Game between the Omaha Lancers and Tri-City Storm is scheduled for 4:05pm.

Tri-City (18-14-3-2) climbed to 2nd place in the Western Conference standings in last night's home win over the Fargo Force. The Storm have won seven of the last ten games, including three of the last four. The Storm battle the Lancers nine times during the 2019-2020 regular season but have not met since Omaha defeat Tri-City by a final score of 1-0 on November 27th at the Viaero Center. Tri-City holds a slight edge in the season series with a record of 2-1-0-1. Through the first 37 games of the regular season, scoring leaders for the Storm include; Colby Ambrosio (20), Benji Eckerle (13), Nick Portz (11), Matthew Knies (10), Cole McWard (6), Mitchell Miller (5), and Nick Capone (5). Today is the Storm's final home game in almost a month. Tri-City will return home again on February 21st in another matchup against the Omaha Lancers.

Omaha (16-11-6-1) enters today's game in 4th place in the Western Conference standings but can overtake the Storm for 2nd place with a regulation road win today. Omaha has a 6-2-1-1 record in its last ten games, and travels to Kearney today after defeating the Sioux City Musketeers by a final score of 6-1 last night at Ralston Arena. Jack Randl (2), Chase Bradley (2), Luke Mobley, and Ryan Lautenbach all scored in the win. Kyle McClellan made 21 saves on 22 shots to record the win in net. Today's game is the beginning of a three game stretch the Lancers will play away from Ralston Arena. Omaha will travel to the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, IA on February 1st to battle the Sioux City Musketeers and will play rival Lincoln at the Ice Box on February 7th before returning home to host the Lincoln Stars on February 8th.
