Saint Louis FC News Release

LAST TIME OUT:

Saint Louis FC took on AFC Cleveland in a 2nd round U.S. Cup game on Wednesday, winning 2-0.

The first goal came in the 22nd minute when Jamiel Hardware scored his first goal of the season with an assist from Kentaro Takada. Later, Jordan Roberts slotted the ball past Cleveland's goalkeeper for his first goal of the regular season in the 77th minute.

With the win, STLFC advances to the third round of the U.S. Open Cup where it will host Minnesota United FC in a replay of last year's third round matchup on Wednesday, June 1 at 7:00 p.m.

In its most recent conference match-up, Saint Louis FC gave up two late goals on the road to Louisville City FC, losing the first leg of the King's Cup 2-0.

THE OPPONENT:

The Tulsa Roughnecks FC are coming off of a 2-0 loss to the Des Moines Menace in a Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup match-up.

The USL side played the final 25 minutes with only ten men after forward Taylor Morgan was shown a red card. The Menace were able to capitalize, scoring two goals to close out the victory for the visitors from the PDL.

Prior to the Open Cup loss, Tulsa fell 2-1 to the Swope Park Rangers last weekend.

The USL Western Conference standings place Saint Louis FC at 6th and Tulsa at 13th.

BACK FOR THE FIRST TIME:

Western Conference newcomer, Saint Louis FC and Tulsa played to a 0-0 draw on April 16 in the STLFC home opener. This may be the second matchup for these new regional rivals this season, but it's not the first time they've squared off at ONEOK Field in Tulsa. Last season, Saint Louis traveled to Oklahoma and defeated Tulsa 2-0 to earn the first regular season victory in franchise history.
