LA Galaxy II News Release

CARSON, Calif. - LA Galaxy II will kick off the 2016 United Soccer League (USL) season at StubHub Center this Saturday, March 26, at 7:30 p.m. PT against USL Western Conference opponent Arizona United SC. Los Dos' 2016 home and season opener, which will be streamed live here, will be the 65th game in club history.

Fans can join LA Galaxy forward Alan Gordon, who is brining beer for fans in attendance at the pregame tailgate, ahead of Los Dos' opening match at the northeast grass pad, the location of the LA Riot Squad tailgate, beginning at 6 p.m. PT. In addition to tailgating with Alan Gordon, there will be free parking and $2 beer and tacos available for fans in attendance. Free parking will be available for fans in StubHub Center Lots 3, 6, 10, 11, 12 and 13. Fans can enter the stadium only through the northwest entry gate at StubHub Center, where free bags will be distributed to fans.

Galaxy II Head Coach Curt Onalfo, back for his third season with Los Dos, named homegrown forward Jack McBean captain for the 2016 season. McBean, 21, made 21 starts in 26 appearances for Los Dos in 2015, tallying five goals and six assists in regular season play. McBean has had no trouble finding the net in Galaxy II's preseason, netting nine goals in nine games - four of them braces.

Los Dos finished the 2015 USL Regular Season fifth in Western Conference standings with a 14-11-3 record to qualify for the USL Playoffs for the second year. In its second straight playoff appearance, the Galaxy defeated Sacramento Republic FC, Orange County Blues FC and OKC Energy FC en route to winning the 2015 USL Western Conference Championship.

McBean, the team's second-leading scorer in 2015, is one of eleven players returning to Los Dos in 2016. Five new players were signed (Bryam Rebellon, Denzel Slager, John Neeskens, Josh Turnley and Nathan Smith), five departed (Joe Franco, Andre Auras, Travis Bowen, Nicholas Shackelford and Elijah Martin) and three signed contracts with LA Galaxy this offseason (Clement Diop, Daniel Steres and Ariel Lassiter).

For Arizona United SC, Frank Yallop will take to the technical area in his first USL game as boss for the side. Yallop takes over a team that is still seeking its first playoff berth in club history. In its 2014 and 2015 seasons, Arizona finished ninth in USL Pro and ninth in the USL Western Conference.

All-time, Arizona has the advantage over Galaxy II in head-to-head matches, with the Galaxy going 2-3-2 against their Western Conference counterparts. Last season, Arizona defeated Galaxy in each of the teams' three matchups.

Next, Galaxy II will face Saint Louis FC at home midweek on Wednesday, March 30, at StubHub Center. Los Dos' schedule picks up quickly from the gate; the team will play six games in its first month of competition. For a full LA Galaxy II schedule, visit www.lagalaxy.com/2.
