Both offense and defense played a significant role in the victory against the 6-time World Champions Rattlers, forcing their second loss of the 2022 season.
Quarterbacks TJ Edwards and Blake Sims collectively completed 164 passing yards. Edwards threw for six completed (nine attempt) passes for a total of 127 yards with a long of 41 yards. This resulted in two touchdowns. Sims tallied 46 yards from five completed (seven attempt) passes while rushing 22 yards.
Wide receivers Jerminic Smith and Sheldon Augustine received over 150 yards combined. Smith received for a total of 124 yards resulting in two touchdowns. This is more than any player had received for during week eleven's game. Augustine tallied 31 receiving yards.
The Fighters' rushing game did not let down during the week eleven matchup against the Rattlers. The team rushed for 152 yards, with running back Justin Rankin rushing almost 70 yards resulting in three touchdowns.
The defensive line was able to keep the Rattlers to only 53 rushing yards. Defensive back Cameron Hilton tallied seven (five solo, two assisted) tackles while defensive back Trey Wafford also made seven (six solo, one assisted) tackles.
About halfway through the second quarter, defensive lineman JD Griggs made a fumble recovery for a gain of five yards.
After being down by a field goal at the end of the first half (21-24), the Frisco Fighters fought to comeback. After a tight scoring third quarter, the Fighters found themselves in the lead by the halfway mark of the fourth quarter, but a touchdown by the Rattlers, with 3:02 left on the clock, had the Fighters down by five points. A huge touchdown ran in by TJ Edwards and two-point conversion by wide receiver Phillip Barnett resulted in a Fighters win (48-45). The Fighters are now ranked in the top spot of the IFL's Coaches Poll.
