New Britain Bees News Release
In 140 Characters or Less: In the finale from Constellation Field, the Bees will try to come away with the series win vs. the Sugar Land Skeeters! First pitch scheduled for 8:05PM!
Series: The Bees won the second of three in Texas last night over the Skeeters 3-2. The teams have split the first six games they have played against each other so far.

The Bees: Craig Maddox may be a little disappointed that the Bees' seven-game road trip comes to an end tonight as he has caught fire while on the road. The lefty hitter has hit .435 (10-23) with a double, three home runs, and five RBIs in five games vs. Long Island and Sugar Land, including going 3-4 with a long ball in last night's win.
The Opposition: Barrett Loux- who gets the start for the Skeeters tonight- made history in his lone start against the Bees this season. The former Texas A&M right-hander struck out 11 Bees in five innings of work back on May 3 at New Britain Stadium, tying the Skeeters' franchise record.
Starters
New Britain- RHP Cole Johnson (3-3, 1.88) | Sugar Land- RHP Barrett Loux (0-1, 6.48)
Key to the Game- Texas Two Step: Cole Johnson will look to recreate the success he had in his last start vs. Sugar Land in his second go-around against them. Johnson tossed the first complete game shutout in Bees' history on May 5 against the Skeeters, striking out six and allowing just two hits in seven innings of work in the first game of a doubleheader. A duplicate performance tonight by Johnson would certainly make the long flight back home feel a bit shorter.

Bees Buzz: With last night's 3-2 win, the Bees are now 11-9 in the 20 one-run games they have played in this season...Anthony Hewitt is hitting .353 (6-17) during his five-game hitting streak...Shawn Gilblair earned his first career save in last night's game, and lowered his season ERA to 0.96 (one run in 9.1 innings) in the process...
