DeRosa Promoted to General Manager

(New Britain, Conn.) - The New Britain Bees today announced the promotion of Middletown resident Bret DeRosa to the team's General Manager position. DeRosa spent the past three seasons with the club as both the Business Manager and Assistant General Manager.
"I would like to thank Mike Pfaff and Brad Smith for believing in me and bringing me on board with the Bees in 2018," said DeRosa. "It has been such a pleasure to work for Brad, and in the culture, he has created here in New Britain. Brad and I think very similarly and together we are determined to give the local community a product they can be proud of."
"Bret has more than earned this promotion, and I look forward to keep working side by side with him to improve the Bees on and off the field," stated Smith.
Smith assumes the new title of President and Team Owner.
DeRosa, 28, has a plethora of educational, and practical experience in the sports business field. DeRosa attended West Virginia University where he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management. He obtained his Master's Degree in Sports Business from New York University. DeRosa started in the sports industry for the Long Island Ducks as the Assistant Clubhouse Manager. Prior to the Bees, DeRosa worked for Dynamic Sports Management, a leading operator in the elite amateur sports world.
DeRosa is passionate about all sports, but during his baseball playing days he was a three-year varsity starter for his high school's baseball team where he was awarded All County honors in his senior year, and helped the team to two consecutive league championships as a starting pitcher, and the team's third baseman.
