Portland, Maine - Alex Binelas belted a three-run homer in the bottom of the fourth, finishing the night with four RBI and leading the Portland Sea Dogs (49-52, 19-13) to a 6-5 victory over the Erie SeaWolves (59-41, 20-11) on Saturday at Hadlock Field.

For the first time in the series, Portland jumped into the scoring column first, bringing in two runs in the bottom of the first against Erie starter Reese Olson. Wilyer Abreu led off with a walk and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from David Hamilton. Ceddanne Rafaela drove in Abreu with an RBI double to center, giving the Sea Dogs a 1-0 lead. Rafaela moved up to third on a groundout from Christian Koss and Stephen Scott walked to put runners on the corners. Binelas singled to right, plating Rafaela, increasing Portland's advantage to 2-0.

The SeaWolves scored their first run in the top of the second inning against Sea Dogs starter Bryan Mata. Quincy Nieporte led off with a solo homer to left. It was his 24th homer of the year and made it a 2-1 game.

Portland brought in another run in the bottom of the third inning with Olson still on the mound. Scott tripled and Nick Northcut grounded into an error at third base, bringing in Scott to make it a 3-1 lead. Erie answered in the top of the fourth inning against Mata. With one out, Parker Meadows singled and Nieporte walked. Wenceel Perez doubled to right, scoring Meadows to cut into the Sea Dogs lead, 3-2.

The Sea Dogs added three more runs to their lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. Rafaela doubled with one out and advanced to third on a groundout by Koss. Scott walked, and Binelas crushed a three-run shot to right-center. It was his eighth long ball of the season and gave Portland a 6-2 lead.

Erie came clawing back in the top of the sixth inning. Andrew Navigato singled and Meadows walked. Two outs later, Dillon Dingler walked to load the bases. Dane Myers doubled off the Maine Monster in left, scoring Navigato and Dingler, making it 6-4. Michael De La Cruz grounded into an error at third base, bringing in Dingler to make it a one-run game, 6-5.

Portland's bullpen held strong the rest of the way. Oddanier Mosqueda tossed 2.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen. Jacob Wallace finished off the final inning with two strikeouts, picking up his first save of the year, locking down a 6-5 win for the Sea Dogs.

Mata (2-2, 2.93 ERA) hurled 5.2 innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on four hits and five walks while striking out six in his second win of the year. Olson (4-5, 4.71 ERA) tossed 3.1 innings, surrendering four runs (three earned) on seven hits and two walks, striking out two in his fifth loss of the year.

The Sea Dogs and SeaWolves play the finale of a six-game series on Sunday with a 1:00 PM first pitch at Hadlock Field. Portland sends RHP Brett Kennedy (3-5, 4.27 ERA) to the mound against Erie RHP Ty Madden (0-0, 0.00 ERA).
