Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release
PITTSBURGH - Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC heads into the fifth week of preseason play with 21 players under contract and an additional number invited on trial.
WEEK 5 PRESEASON ROSTER
This week, the team signed former MLS veteran Ben Zemanski, as well as trialists Hugh Roberts and Todd Pratzner to its 2018 roster. Zemanski joins Pittsburgh after splitting time between Portland Timbers of MLS and Portland Timbers 2 of the USL in 2017, while Roberts and Pratzner competed for Bethlehem Steel FC and the Rochester Rhinos, respectively.
The Week Ahead
Holding a 7-0 record in preseason action, Riverhounds SC readies for one game in week five. Pittsburgh will face in-state rival Penn FC at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Highmark Stadium.
Penn FC is led by first-year head coach Raoul Voss, who inherits the helm after the squad posted a 10-15-7 record and placed 11th in the USL Eastern Conference in 2017.
Last Week
Riverhounds SC notched two wins in week four of the preseason, defeating the University of Pittsburgh, 1-0, and Bethlehem Steel FC, 2-0.
Three different players (Neco Brett, Kevin Kerr and Jordan Dover) accounted for Pittsburgh's three goals last week. Defensively, goalkeepers Dan Lynd, Mike Kirk and Kyle Morton combined for the team's 180 minutes of shutout play. Riverhounds SC now has five clean sheets in seven preseason matches.
