Hit The Ice: The Tulsa Oilers have started training camp for their 18th Central Hockey League season. The Oilers training camp takes place at the Oilers Ice Center, located at 64th and Mingo. Morning sessions from 8:15-11:00 are free and open to the public.

New Boss: Bruce Ramsay is in his first year as the Oilers head coach. He is entering his sixth season as a professional head coach, most recently taking the Muskegon Lumberjacks to the Turner Cup final of the International Hockey League. Ramsay coached teams have never missed the playoffs.

Back Again: The Oilers have five players in training camp who spent time with the team last season. They are defensemen Peter Kennedy, R. J. Linder, and Matt Smyth and forwards Mike Beausoleil and Jake Riddle. Additionally, Dallas Steward who played his rookie season with the Oilers in 2004-05 is back in Tulsa's training camp.

See 'Em Now: Tuesday night at 7 the Oilers will have an intrasquad game at the Oilers Ice Center, their only preseason game in Tulsa. Former Oilers Tom Karalis and Doug Pirnak will coach the two squads while Ramsay will view from the stands. Admission is free for Oilers season ticket holders and $10 for all others.

Jumpin' Jacks: The Oilers don't face the Odessa Jackalopes in the regular season but will play their only two CHL preseason games in Odessa on Thursday and Saturday. Both games start at 7 p.m. and can be heard via the internet at http://player.streamtheworld.com/liveplayer.php?callsign=KFZXFM

Home Opener: After two road games (Oct. 16 at Mississippi and Oct. 23 at Wichita) the Oilers will have their home opener on Saturday October 24th against Wichita at 7:35 p.m.
