LAST GAME: ICE 4 Blades 1, Friday, April 23. Owen Pederson (12,13) scored twice, while Mike Ladyman (2) and Connor McClennon (14) added singles as the ICE topped the Blades in a battle to break a second-place tie in the East Division Standings. Peyton Krebs and Karter Prosofsky each had two assists and Gage Alexander made 25 saves for the win to up his record to 6-3-0-0.
SCENE SETTER: The ICE (16-5-1-0=31), who take a five-game point streak (4-0-1-0) into this evening's game with Prince Albert (8-10-3-1 ), can wrap up second in the East Division with a win. Winnipeg has won three straight against the Raiders to open the season series with two of the victories in overtime. Conor Geekie and Connor McClennon lead the ICE with four points each versus the Raiders, while Cole Muir has a team-best two goals in the matchup. Evan Herman and Ozzie Wiesblatt top the P.A. charts with three points apiece against Winnipeg.

Krebs Ties Comrie's Club Record: Peyton Krebs matched Mike Comrie's 20-year-old ICE record point streak Friday, April 23 versus Saskatoon. Krebs first period assist gave him at least a point in 21 consecutive games (13 goals, 28 assists). Krebs' impressive point total leads all WHL players. The Okotoks, AB product has 13 multipoint games in 2021.
Leppard Hits 250: Jackson Leppard played his 250th WHL game Friday, April 23 versus Saskatoon. The 2000-born centre debuted with Prince George as a 15-year-old and skated in 197 games with the Cougars before joining the ICE in a trade early in the 2019-20 season, a season in which he scored 20 for the first time.
Pederson Produces: With two goals against Saskatoon Friday, April 23rd Owen Pederson has 19 points in his last 12 games and ten multipoint outings in 2021. Pederson had a nine-game point streak (6 goals, 10 assists) end Monday April 19th @ SC. The Stony Plain, AB product appeared in his 100th WHL game versus Swift Current, Monday, March 15th.
McClennon's Memorable 2021: Connor McClennon three point game (1G,2A) against Saskatoon Friday, April 23rd was his 11th multipoint contest in 22 appearances. The Flyers' draftee had a run of four consecutive multipoint games, and 12-game point streak (9 goals, 12 assists), end Monday, April 19th @ SC. April 12th versus Regina McClennon scored to reach 100 points for his WHL career. Connor played his 100th Western Hockey League game vs Brandon, Thursday, March 25th. The second overall pick in the 2017 WHL Draft reached a century with 88 points to his credit (39 goals, 49 assists).
Smallwood Making His Mark: Jakin Smallwood's two-goal game against Moose Jaw Wednesday, April 21st lifted him to 13 goals on the season, one-shy of his career-high in 63 games last season. Smallwood played his 150th WHL game Sunday, April 18th versus Brandon. The Leduc, AB product reached the milestone with 38 goals and 32 assists
Geekie Lighting The Lamp: Conor Geekie, the second overall pick in the 2019 WHL Draft, has eight points in his last seven games (3 goals, 5 assists). The 16-year-old 19 points in 20 games.
Geekie Wins It: 2004-born Conor Geekie's first career game winning goal was an overtime winner as the ICE beat Prince Albert in OT Saturday, April 10th.
Zach Attack: 2005-born Zach Benson had his first WHL multi-goal game Monday, April 19th @ SC. It was the fifth multipoint game of the season for Winnipeg's first-round pick in the 2020 WHL Draft.
Krebs Milestone Man: Krebs hit 150 WHL assists with two helpers against Moose Jaw Sunday, March 28th. Also, Peyton's goal versus Swift Current Friday, March 26th was the 200th point of his WHL career. Krebs' first point was an assist in Lethbridge in his WHL debut on November 16, 2016.
Mr. Zero: Gage Alexander picked up his first WHL shutout versus Prince Albert Friday, April 2nd stopping all 31 shots sent his way.
Muir reaches 200: Forward Cole Muir played his 200th WHL game Wednesday, April 15 versus Brandon. Muir, who was acquired from Regina in the 2017-18 season, played 187 games for the ICE and 13 with the Pats to reach the mark.
100 for Milne: Forward Mikey Milne skated in his 100th WHL contest Wednesday, April 15 versus Brandon. The Abbotsford, BC product debuted for the ICE against Calgary in November of 2018.
ICE streak ends: Winnipeg had a six-game win streak end Wednesday, April 15 with a 5-3 loss to Brandon. The streak was the club's longest since relocating to Manitoba. The ICE outscored the opposition 24-11 in the six games with 11 power play goals.
Powerplay Consistency: The ICE have scored a powerplay goal in 18 of their 22 games, and have 32 powerplay goals in 98 advantages (32.7%). Winnipeg was 22.5% effective on the powerplay last season, tops in the East Division scoring 58 PPG in 63 games.
PK: Winnipeg penalty killers are 62-for-77 on the season (80.5%) with two shorthanded goals.
Back-to-Back: Winnipeg's has played five back-to-back sets in the Hub, and has a 4-1-0-0 mark in the second games of those sets so far. The club plays a total of six back-to-backs this season.
Home Kings: 9-2-1-0 as the home team at the Brandt Centre, the ICE went 22-9-0-0 at the ICE Cave in 2019-20.
Winning Ways: Winnipeg's 38 total wins, and 22 home wins, were East Division highs a season ago.

March 15th vs Swift Current, Zach Benson had his first goal, first assist, and first multi-point game. 2004-born Conor Geekie notched his first assist to earn his first point streak (2 games). After scoring 85 QMJHL goals, Anderson MacDonald notched his first Dub goal. And, 2004 born goalie Daniel Hauser collected the win in his first WHL appearance.
