Game Notes

One Knight Only

On Thursday night we welcome the league-leading London Knights to town for their only visit of the year. London is led on defence by World Junior stand outs Scott Harrington (Canada) and Olli Maatta (Finland). The Knights are also the defending OHL Champions and tied the record for 2nd most CHL/OHL wins in a row when they rattled off 24 consecutive victories earlier this season.

London's Shining Knights

The Knights came within one goal of winning the Memorial Cup last year and have a good mix of drafted and draft-eligible players this year to try and finish the job. Along with highly-touted Pittsburgh draft picks Scott Harrington and Olli Maatta, the Knights have San Jose prospects Chris Tierney and Josh Sefton. Other Knights who have heard their name called at the draft are Ryan Rupert (Toronto, 6th round), Seth Griffith(Boston, 5th Round), Alex Broadhurst (Chicago, 7th round), Josh Anderson (Columbus, 4th round) and Anthony Stolarz (Philly, 2nd round).

The Knights also have 8 players that have been named in the NHL Central Scouting's Midterm Rankings for the 2013 NHL Draft . Bo Horvat, Max Domi, Nikita Zadorov are all ranked in the 30. Other top players named were Remi Elie (56th) , Miles Liberati (88th), Kyle Platzer (116th), and Dakota Mermis (156th). Goaltender Jake Patterson is ranked 16th among CHL North American Goaltenders.

Switching Benches

This will be the second time that 67's Associate Coach Misha Donskov faces his former team. Donskov spent the last three seasons with the London Knights serving as Assistant General Manager and Assistant Coach. Donskov came over from London in the off-season.

Bill Kitchen Award

The Ottawa 67's are proud to announce the establishment of the Bill Kitchen Community Builder Award. It will be presented annually to an individual who devotes time and effort to strengthen local minor hockey and our community.
