The Bloomington PrairieThunder has opened training camp at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum as Head Coach Jason Christie continues to work 29 players through two-a-day practices this week as the team gets ready for pre-season games this coming Saturday and Sunday.

Eight players from last season's team are currently in training camp. The players are forwards Billy Bagron, Rick Varone, Jon Booras, Brett Holmberg, Craig MacDonald, and John Snowden. Defenseman Matt Woodard and goaltender Kevin Armstrong are also in camp.

Wednesday (10/6): 9:00am-10:00am & 2:30pm-4:00pm (U.S. Cellular Coliseum)

Thursday (10/7): 9:00am-10:00am (Coliseum) & 1:30pm-3:00pm (Pepsi Ice Center)

Friday (10/8): 9:00am-11:00am (Pepsi Ice Center)

Saturday (10/9): Practice TBA / 3:00pm: Team departs for Quad City

7:00pm: Pre-season Game #1: PrairieThunder @ Quad City Mallards

Sunday (10/10): Practice TBA / 1:15pm: Team departs for Decatur

4:00pm: Pre-season Game #2: PrairieThunder vs. Quad City

Monday (10/11): Practice: 10:00am-12 noon (Coliseum)

Pre-season games this weekend

The PrairieThunder will play the Quad City Mallards twice this weekend in pre-season action in preparation for the start of the regular season on October 16th (at Missouri):

(Decatur Civic Center in Decatur, Illinois)

Tickets for Sunday's game in Decatur are on sale at the PrairieThunder office, 318 W. Washington Street, Suite 1NW until 5:00pm on Friday and will be available up until game time on Sunday afternoon at the Decatur Civic Center in downtown Decatur.

Single game tickets now on sale at U.S. Cellular Coliseum

Bloomington PrairieThunder single game tickets are now on sale at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum Box Office. Tickets are on sale at the Coliseum Box Office Monday through Friday from 11am to 5:30pm and on weekends when there are events in the Coliseum. PrairieThunder single game tickets are also available by going to the U.S. Cellular Coliseum website: http://www.uscellularcoliseum.com/events/all/ and click on Tickets & Seating.

PrairieThunder's Chip to appear at Saturday's Fall Festival

The PrairieThunder's mascot, Chip, will appear at this Saturday's Bloomington Fall Festival from 2pm to 5pm at Miller Park. The event is free.

Annual PrairieThunder "Kick Off" party is Wednesday, October 13th

The team's annual "Kick Off" party will be held at Baxter's Restaurant, 3212 East Empire Street, on Wednesday, October 13th starting at 5pm. The event is open to all season ticket holders and team sponsors free of charge. Additional tickets are $10.00. Those who attend will be able to pick-up their 2010-2011 season tickets and all members of the team along with Head Coach Jason Christie will be in attendance.

Season tickets and group ticket packages for the 2010-2011 Bloomington Prairie Thunder are still on sale at the team's offices located at 318 W. Washington Street, Suite 1NW, in downtown Bloomington. The PrairieThunder's home opening weekend is Friday & Saturday, October 22nd and 23rd, when Bloomington hosts the Odessa Jackalopes and Tulsa Oilers at 7:05pm each evening at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
