DAYTON, Ohio - Craig Macdonald and Jon Booras each scored three points to lead the Bloomington PrairieThunder to a 5-3 International Hockey League victory over Dayton at Hara Arena before 2,078 people.

Macdonald scored two goals and had an assist, while Booras tallied one goal and two assists as the PrairieThunder moved its record to 9-4-0-2 and 20 points, ahead of Friday's 7:05 p.m. home game against Port Huron at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

Port Huron is one point ahead of Bloomington in the standings with a 10-4-0-1 record and 21 points.

Brett Holmberg got the PrairieThunder on the scoreboard fiirst with a goal off the face-off that was won by Booras for the assist at the 14:19 mark of the first period. Dayton tied the contest with 15:26 left in the second period on a John Snowden power play goal.

Macdonald gave the PrairieThunder the lead for good eight minutes later with a goal off assists by Zac Pearson and Russ Smith. Bloomington took a 3-1 lead into the locker room after two periods, thanks to a power play goal by Jason Lepine on a Jesse Dudas assist with 3:48 remaining in the second period.

Phil Youngclaus cut the PrairieThunder advantage to 3-2 with 15:20 left on a goal before Macdonald added his second goal on the power play two minutes laster off an assist by Booras for a 4-2 lead.

Booras scored an empty net goal with 42 seconds left on an assist by Macdonald. Edgar Brancis scored with 10 seconds remaining for Dayton.

Paulo Colaiacovo, seeing action for the first time in seven games because of an injury, returned to earn the win in net by stopping 36 of 39 shots to move his record to 6-2.

Dayton owned a 39-24 advantage in shots. Bloomington was 2 for 6 on the power play, while Dayton was 2 for 8.
