November 25, 2009 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2)
Quad City Mallards News Release

Moline, Ill. (November 25, 2009) - The Quad City Mallards, proud International Hockey League (IHL) affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, today announced that goaltender D.J. Delbuono has signed with the team. Per Mallards team policy no contract terms were released.

Delbuono, 23, will act as the Mallards' backup netminder behind Kyle Jones. The Westborough, Massachusetts, native has signed with the Flock in the wake of the retirement yesterday of goaltender Sebastien Laplante. Delbuono had been practicing with the team before being added to the roster. The Mallards' pursuit of a goaltender for the longer term is ongoing.

The 5' 8", 155-pound Delbuono was on the roster of the Central Hockey League's Amarillo Gorillas earlier this season but did not see any game action. The Westborough, Massachusetts, native played parts of two games with the Corpus Christi IceRays of the CHL last season. Delbuono also played in a total of four games with the Lewiston Maineiacs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in 2003-04 and 2004-05.

The Mallards return to action tonight on home ice at 7:05 p.m. against the Port Huron Icehawks. The first 1,000 fans through the doors for that game will receive free Mallards Drawstring Backpacks courtesy of Hardee's.

Tickets for tonight's game and all remaining regular season Mallards home games are available at the i wireless Center box office, Ticketmaster outlets and www.ticketmaster.com or through Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. through the end of the second period. * *
