Dayton Gems Tormented By Bloomington Prarie Thunder 5:3

The Gems took home ice hoping tochange their luck against theBloomington Prarie Thunder. With a crowd of over 2000the Gems held Bloomington to only 1 goal in the 1st period. Only a few minutes into the 2nd John Snowden evened the score but the Prairie Thunder struck twice before the stanza ended. Gem Phil Youngclaus with an assist from Matt Auffrey started the 3rd period only to have Bloomington come back 2 minutes later during a power play score. In the last minutes of the game the Praire Thunder scored into the empty net and Dayton's Edgars Brancis with an assist from Joe Van Culin ended the evening at 5:3 for Bloomington.

This Friday evening at 7:30pm the Gems strive to streak the Flint Generals it's a night for Wizards and Muggles - Harry Potter Night. Prizes will be awarded for best Harry Potter character costume. Again a $5 admission will be charged with a non-perishable food donation for The Foodbank and Hara will waive the parking fee.

Next Saturday, December 5th at Brookville's Westbrook Elementary Santa will have a new helper this year. The annual Breakfast with Santa will find our mascot, Blade, enjoying breakfast and helping Santa pass out the gifts. Canned goods will be collected and donated to the Brookville F.I.S.H. food pantry

That evening at 7:30pm as the Gems take on theFt Wayne Komets join us we saluteGemMoe Benoit. Moe's number will be retired. Fans of the original Gems are invited to join us and pay tribute to his career. That evening is also "Kill the Komets" night and fans 12 and under will receive complimentary official Gems pom poms to cheer the team on.
