Bakersfield, CA Feb. 20 - The Bakersfield Jam extended its win streak to four games as they beat the Los Angeles D-Fenders by a score of 105 - 91 before a crowd of 1,126 Tuesday night in Bakersfield. Bakersfield was led by All-Star Kevinn Pinkney's 26 points and 13 rebounds.
Tuesday's game was played with a great deal of energy as both teams struggled to keep control. However, yet another fantastic fourth quarter by the Jam allowed them to pick up another win. Bakersfield outscored Los Angeles 37 - 18 in the final period en route to a 14 point victory.
"Throughout this game we needed to be more aggressive," said Jam coach Jim Harrick "and in the fourth quarter we finally were able to." Coach Harrick also stated, "Roderick Riley came up big for us tonight, dominating the paint in the fourth on both ends of the court."
Tuesday's victory improved Bakersfield's record to 11 - 22. Mateen Cleaves put up 22 points and 9 assists. Roderick Riley added 11 points and 12 rebounds for the Jam.
The D-Fenders were led by Sean Banks who posted 28 points. Andre Patterson added 14 points and 5 rebounds.
The Jam and D-Fenders will face off again Sunday March 25th in Los Angeles.
