ASHEVILLE, NC - Brent Brewer led a revitalized West Virginia Power attack with 2-3, 3 RBI performance as the Power defeated the Tourists in the finale of a four-game set by a 14-3 margin. Brewer's 2 doubles set the tone as the Power shortstop reached base a total of six times this evening and came around to score five runs. The Power took advantage of three Tourists errors to get the lead, but the game turned into a deluge in the late innings. West Virginia recorded eleven of their 16 hits in the last five innings alone.

Michael Mitchell was the lone bright spot offensively for Asheville, driving in all three runs and going 4-5 with a single, pair of doubles and a triple. He grounded out to end the game a home run short of the cycle. Mitchell also stole two bases to improve his season total in that category to five.

West Virginia jumped all over Tourists starter Sheng-An Kuo, pitching for the first time in Asheville. With the bases loaded in the first, Mitchell misplayed Caleb Gindl's single to center allowing the ball to roll all the way to the wall and scoring all three runners. Gindl would himself score on a groundout.

The Tourists worked the deficit back to two with two runs in the second, making it a 5-3 game at that point. But Curt Rindal's 5th inning home run added fuel to the fire for the Power and began to push the game out of reach for the T's. The Power added two runs in the 6th, another pair in the 8th and three more in the ninth to cruise to the eleven-run victory.

Brewer, Zelous Wheeler, Jonathan Lucroy, Gindl, Steffan Wilson and Scott Houin all had multi-hit games for the Power.

Kuo takes the loss for the Tourists, throwing four innings and giving up five runs - three earned - on four hits and five walks. He struck out two. Amaury Rivas picked up the win for the Power in relief of injured starter Rob Bryson. Rivas threw 7.1 innings of shutout ball, yielding only four hits and a walk while striking out eight.

The Tourists welcome the Hickory Crawdads into town tomorrow night, sending Jhoulys Chacin (1-1, 4.15 ERA) to the hill to face Dionis Rodriguez (0-0, 3.60). The first 1,000 fans at the ballpark will receive a free replica jersey T-shirt compliments of Sitel. First pitch will take place at 7:05. The game can be heard on WRES 100.7 FM.

The Asheville Tourists are the Single-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. Tickets are available by contacting the front office at (828)-258-0428 or on the website, www.theashevilletourists.com.
