LAST NIGHT: West Virginia beat Lexington 4-2 to snap a two game losing streak. The Power took the lead in the sixth inning on a two-run home run by Elevys Gonzalez, held a 3-2 going into the ninth, and added a run of insurance on a Jesus Brito home run in the ninth. Quinton Miller earned the win, while Maurice Bankston picked up his third save.

LOVIN LEXINGTON: Elevys Gonzalez and Jesus Brito both hit home runs last night against Legends pitchers, and each had not hit a home run since a previous series with Lexington. Gonzalez's only other home run this season came on May 26 at Appalachian Power Park off of Tanner Bushue, while Brito had not hit a home run since July 12 off of Bushue.

POWER V LEGENDS: West Virginia has played Lexington more than any other team dating back to the 2005 season. The Power lead the all-time series 59-56, but trail 27-32 at Appalachian Power Park. West Virginia does, however, have the edge at Applebee's Park in Lexington, winning 34 of 58 games. The 2009 series was split at six wins and six losses.

LEAGUE LEADERS: West Virginia is tied with Asheville and Kannapolis for a league-best seven wins this month despite the fact that they hold the league fourth highest August ERA at 4.55. The club went into play with a 3.82 earned run average over their first eight games, but saw it shoot up to 5.05 after 15 earned runs in the series finale against the BlueClaws.

WALK OF LIFE: Evan Chambers leads the South Atlantic League with 87 walks and ranks fourth across all of Minor League Baseball, trailing only Conner Crumbliss of Kane County (96) and Kila Ki'aihue of Omaha (88), and Lake Elsinore's Vincent Belnome (88). Allan Dykstra led Minor League baseball last year with 104 walks in 125 games played, while Robbie Grossman had 75 to lead all Power players.

TOO MUCH TO HANDLE: On Tuesday, West Virginia allowed a season-high 17 runs and surrendered five home runs, the most allowed in any one game this year. It was also the club's largest margin of defeat this season and matched the worst loss in Power history. Asheville beat West Virginia 14-0 on May 17, 2005 with Yovanni Gallardo taking the loss after allowing seven runs on seven hits over two innings.

DOUBLE THE FUN: For the second time this season, Power hitters collected five doubles in a single game. Ramon Cabrera, Jarek Cunningham, Aaron Baker, Jose Hernandez, and Rogelio Noris all reached on two-base hits Monday night, matching the output in a 10-9 ten inning win against Lexington on July 8.

POWER POINTS: Quinton Miller notched his first quality start of the season in Wednesday's win on his fifth try... Monday's game was the longest of the season, lasting three hours and fifty minutes, surpassing the previous marathon from July 18 by nine minutes.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh lost 3-0 at San Diego and completed a winless season against the padres... Indianapolis lost 2-1 to Norfolk in 11 innings... Altoona beat Trenton 5-3... Bradenton shut down Palm Beach 14-0... State College edged Lowell 1-0.
