
Potomac Takes Game One from K-Tribe

Potomac beat the K-Tribe 2-0 in game one of Saturday's doubleheader to clinch the Northern Division second half title and a playoff spot.
In the first inning, Tyler Moore hit an RBI single to left to give the Nationals a 1-0 lead. K-Tribe starter Joe Gardner retired 13 in a row until the sixth inning, when Francisco Soriano walked and Derek Norris hit an RBI single to make it 2-0.
Gardner (12-6) gave up two runs, one earned on two hits in 5 1/3 innings. He walked four and struck out one.
Kinston was shutout on three hits by Trevor Holder(3-3) for six innings. Patrick McCoy pitched a perfect ninth inning for his sixth save.
