TODAY: The Potomac Nationals will go for their first series victory from Lynchburg City Stadium since April 14-16 of the 2008 season when they play game two with the Lynchburg Hillcats with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Last week, the P-Nats won their first series against the Hillcats since July 17-18 of last year by taking three of four from the "Pfitz." Lynchburg had own this series with Potomac over the last two years having won four straight sets from their home ballpark dating back to last April. Overall, the Hillcats hold a 82-70 advantage over the Nationals from City Stadium.

RIGHT AT HOME: Tom Milone has made his money this year on the road where here has gone 4-2 with a 3.34 ERA. Opponents are batting just .243 against the left-hander and the former USC Trojan has a 3.20:1 strikeout to walk ratio away from Pfitzner Stadium.

TODAY'S OPPOSING STARTER: LHP Chi-Hung Cheng, 23, was signed as a minor league free agent by theafter spending his previous five seasons in the Toronto Blue Jays organization. Cheng makes his residence in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan and was the Blue Jays organization Pitcher-of-the-Month for both July and August during his 11-5 campaign with Lansing in 2006. That season, Cheng finished 3rd in the Midwest League with his 154 strikeouts in 143.1 IP and 5th in ERA at 2.70. He was limited to just seven starts in 2007 and had a disappointing 2008 with Lansing posting a 5-9 record with a 4.88 ERA in 25 games, 14 starts with the Lugnuts. Cheng is hoping to bounce back to his ‘06 form for the Pirates' system.

In the first half, it appeared Cheng did return to his glory days with the Jays by going 6-2 with 3.49 ERA in 15 appearances (11 starts) with Lynchburg. He struck out a season-high six Blue Rocks in his first victory on April 17 and won his final three decisions heading into the break to go 6-2 for the first-place Hillcats. He's pitched on four separate occasions against the P-Nats including twice during the season opening series from Lynchburg in early April In his last time out against the Nationals in his last start, Cheng was tagged for four runs on five hits including a three-run homer by Chris Marrero last Thursday from Pfitzner Stadium. For the season, the southpaw is 2-0 with a 2.30 ERA with the P-Nats hitting just .222 against the Taiwanese hurler.
