GAME HIGHLIGHTS

Seattle used runs of 17-0 (second quarter) and 17-1 (third quarter) to put Connecticut away, as the Storm held the Sun to just 37.5 percent (27-for-72) shooting for the game, including 6-for-24 (25 percent) from beyond the arc.

Sue Bird logged 23 minutes tonight, giving her 15,734 career minutes to pass Katie Smith (15,725) to move to second all-time in minutes played in WNBA history. Tina Thompson holds the all-time record with 16,089 minutes.

Tonight's announced attendance of 9,307 was the highest of the season for the Storm (previous high was 8,602 vs. Phoenix on Opening Night on 5/20/18).

KEY STATS OF THE GAME

Between the 5:21 mark of the third quarter and the 6:01 tick of the fourth frame, the Storm held the Sun without a field goal, forcing 15 straight misses from the field with four turnovers.

Seattle owned the paint by a 42-26 margin.

The Storm held the Sun to just 70 points, tying Connecticut's season-low (70 at Atlanta, 6/22/18).

STORM HIGHLIGHTS

Breanna Stewart, the league's leading scorer, posted 11 points to go along with five rebounds. She also tied a season-high with three blocks, her third time achieving that number.

Jewell Loyd recorded 11 points and three assists.

Natasha Howard posted a team-high 13 points and a team-best eight rebounds. She also had four blocks, tying a season-high. She has now achieved that three times this season.

Sue Bird cashed in nine assists to go along with 11 points. She has dished out nine or more assists in four straight games, accumulating a total of 39 dimes in those games.

With 48.5 seconds left in the first quarter, Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis eclipsed the 500-point mark with a three-pointer. She finished with 10 points on 4-for-7 shooting, her fifth game in double figures.

Jordin Canada came off the bench to tally 10 points, five assists and two steals. She has recorded five or more dimes four times this season.

Crystal Langhorne scored a season-high seven points in 17 minutes off the bench.

The Storm closed the second quarter with a 19-3 run to turn a four-point (32-28) deficit into a 12-point (47-35) lead at the half. Jewell Loyd scored eight points during the run.

Seattle improved to 10-0 when leading after the first quarter.

In the final 6:45 of the third quarter, the Storm held the Sun to just three points and mustered a 17-1 run to take a 20-point (68-48) lead into the fourth quarter.

The Storm improved its league-leading assist-to-turnover ratio to 1.54 (23 assists, 10 turnovers vs. Connecticut tonight).

Seattle improved to 8-3 at home and collected its third-straight win at KeyArena.

The Storm attempted a season-low eight free throws.

Seattle improved to 10-1 with the starting lineup of Sue Bird, Jewell Loyd, Breanna Stewart, Alysha Clark and Natasha Howard.

With the win, Seattle improved to 2-0 this season against Connecticut and 10-8 all-time against the Sun at KeyArena.

SUN HIGHLIGHTS

Alex Bentley came off the bench to score a team-high 15 points, her seventh game in double figures this season.

In 22 minutes off the bench, Betnijah Laney scored a season-high 11 points on 5-for-8 shooting to go along with a season-high six rebounds.

Jonquel Jones scored 10 points on 4-for-8 shooting, her sixth game in double figures in 2018.

In her third WNBA season, Rachel Banham started in her first career game.

Connecticut outrebounded Seattle, 39-34.

The Sun outscored the Storm in the fourth quarter, 22-16.
