TEAM NOTABLES
On the road, the New York Liberty (5-4) fell to the Connecticut Sun (8-2), 64-85, in the team's first meeting of the season.
Despite the Liberty's 12-0 run midway through the second quarter, the Sun entered the locker room at halftime with a six-point advantage. To start the third quarter, Connecticut went on a 9-0 run to extend their six-point lead to 15. The Sun extended their lead by as many as 23 points to defeat the Liberty in the end.
New York finished the game with 20 team assists. The team also totaled 22 rebounds, 5 steals, 4 blocks and 33 bench points.
The Liberty converted on nine fast break points, while the Sun did not record any.
New York finished on 43.6% (24-55) shooting from the field, 40.7% (11-27) from beyond the arc and 83.3% (5-6) at the free throw line.

Rebecca Allen led all Liberty scorers with 14 points on 50% (5-10) shooting from the field and 57.1% (4-7) shooting from beyond the arc.
Jazmine Jones added eight points, three assists, and three rebounds in 19:17 minutes off the bench.
Sami Whitcomb recorded nine points on 60.0% (3-5) from the field and 75.0% (3-4) from deep. She also added five rebounds and two assists.
Betnijah Laney totaled 8 points and a team-high six assists against her former team.
Rookie Michaela Onyenwere totaled seven points on 75.0% (3-4) shooting from the field.
Jonquel Jones was Connecticut's leading scorer with a career high 31 points on 75.0% (12-16) shooting from the field, 50.0% (2-4) from three, and recorded a game-high 13 rebounds (tied season-high).
